I Got on!!!!

I finally got on and now I'm not ready with the picture that I wanted to post. Oh, well, I guess I'll just have to write something. I was sorry to hear that you were having a spell of sickness at your house, Jolee. I hope everyone is healthy and life is going along smoothly now. I'm anxious to see how much Maddox has grown.
All we have been doing is trying to stay warm. Mr. Jim is either snowblowing or cranking up the furnace. I just curl up with the afghan and a good book.
I am still enjoying all the memories from my 70th birthday. Thanks to everyone who helped make those memories.
When I load some pictures on my computer I hope that I can get on again. All my "cookies" must be aligned correctly today. Dumb computer!!!!
Stay warm, everyone!!! Love you all. MOM/Aunt Janis

Stayin Alive (sort of)

Hey there. First time I have been on the computer in a loooong looong time. A few minutes to post anything, just keeps escaping me. Here's a recap of what's been happening.

Life was going along wonderfully until Christmas Day night Craig came down with a cold...a baaad cold. next night, Mason was up for 4 hours in the middle of the night (2am until 6 am) with a horrible cough and croup and throwing up from coughing. That lasted 3 nights..with Maddox eating every hour for his growth spurt, and Mason needing the nebulizer and steam baths and meds. Craig and I just handed off children throughout the nights.

Mason went to Urgent Care Dec 29th for the cough. Found out Mason had a double ear infection...was put on antibiotics...which also took care of the cough. then the next day Maddox went to Urgent Care with his first bad cold. At just 3 weeks. It was horrible. As Maddox started to get better, his baby acne was out of control. Poor boy's skin was starting to crack and peeled like he had a horrible sunburn. his ears were covered in this yellow crusty, oily, goopy stuff. He was treated with hydrocortisone and Eucerin cream, which worked like a charm.

Then, the next day after the Dr appt for the hydrocortisone, Maddox woke up with Thrush, and I had a yeast issue as well. So back to the Dr. Got a prescription for Maddox and myself.

For several days this was the routine.. Mason--antibiotic 2x/day. Don't forget yogurt for tummy.

Maddox..Hydrocortisone and Eucerin 2x/day, Oral Med 4 x/day, and prescription for rash 2-3x/day.

Myself...cream 2x/day. I had to remember this with absolutely no sleep.

All through this time, Maddox was eating every hour, was miserable and needed a lot of extra TLC. Oh, Craig also had a root canal. I did get a sinus infection and horrible sore throat, but it only lasted a week. Oh yeah, then for about half a week, I needed to pump after every feeding during the day because Maddox just couldn't eat well.

Now, Mason has been having bloody noses at night for a couple nights, but Maddox is back on track...eating every 2-3 hours, sleeping much better at night, but lo and behold, Craig woke up inthe middle of the night last night with the stomach flu. I sanitized our home for an hour at 3 in the morning. And tonight, poor Mason fell while climbing onto the dining room chair and did a face plant into the chair which resulted in a large bloody nose and quite a bit of screaming.

Oh yeah, Last Friday we found out Mason's left ear drum ruptured...which did not hurt him at all (surprisingly). Thankfully we had made the appt for the ENT. Mason needs to wear special earplugs now when he showers or bathes.

Since Dec 29th, we have been to see a Dr at least once a week, sometimes twice...except for this week. Right now Maddox is being followed for this coughing he does after he eats. May be reflux or may be a fistula between his esophagus and trachea (a small hole)...but we are pretty sure it's the reflux, so we are watching it until his 2 month appt on Feb 4th.

I am praying the stomach flu does not pass around the house. Sooo, there you go. Lots of adventure and excitement here. And not much time for anything. Please pray everyone starts getting healthy and we don't need to go to the Dr anymore.

Maddox is a dream baby though, even through all of his issues. He is starting to laugh and today said "Baa-maaa-baaa". He coos with us all the time and is VERY interactive. When he is awake, he needs to be "talking" to someone. He is going to be another talker like Mason. I am in trouble!! :) He is also growing. Weighed over 11 pounds, and for a while was gaining a pound a week. ( At least we have been able to chart his growth with all the Dr. visits) His hair is starting to fall out...but not at the top, I think he will have a mohawk. And he is just adorable!! I will try to email or post pics someday...but I have no idea when.

Mason is doing well. Craig has been back at work for 2 weeks, so the transition for Mason has really started. he is doing pretty well, but pushing all the limits. It has been hard with all the other stuff, but I think things will go better soon. Not that he has been awful. Just a lot of attitude and sassiness. But he does love his brother. He brought a picture of Maddox with him to show the Ear Dr. Mason has also been a great helper as well and I do love him so much.

I think Mason is sick of me though. He told me I should go to work a lot of days like Dad does, so Dad can stay home. He thought that was a great idea! (and there have been days I have to agree)

Well, not much time left for me. Thought I would update. It was fun reading the other posts and seeing the pics!!! Take care everyone and I hope to be up and running soon.

Birthday Memories!!!

Auntie Jan- Im so glad we could make it for your birthday! It was a blast! The boys had a good time playing outside~ thanks Steve!! and i enjoyed visiting with everyone. It was so nice to see everyone again!

I am Here!!!

Cathy- Thank you for posting the pic of Nic! Ive been trying to figure out how to do it and poof its already there! I can't believe he did that the very next day! I know now to never say such foolish things! He is doing great! Feels pretty cool with a cast on! Of course he is right handed so school on Monday should be fun for him. Guess he will get 6 weeks off of me telling him to work on his handwriting! One of many perks im guessing. Gianni and Vinnie are doing great as well. They will be keeping up with Karate, while Nic watches from the sidelines for a bit! I hope everyone is staying warm with this extremely cold, cold snap!~ Love to all

Yea. John looks exactly the same.
We had a nice time last night talking and bowling at a new place in Bayshore Mall.

By the way - it's crazy cold down here. I can't imagine how yucky it is in
Long-Underwear Bay. Stoke that woodstove Randy! All HappyHaugens enjoy the Packers!

Where is everyone???

Where in the world is everyone??? It only takes a minute to write something for this blog. I'm going to share a picture that I received from Junal today. Last Sunday she was bragging about how accident free her kids were. It doesn't pay to brag. You know what happens then. So here is Nic with his broken radius. Always be careful when you jump off a swing.
This is a pretty impressive cast.
So what's up with everyone??? and GO Packers!!!!
