Torture...

the itching...itching...itching. I was awakened to itching at midnight as the hives have spread. They are all over my trunk, forearms, wrists and neck. The pharmacist did not think it was a safe idea to take Benadryl for a variety of reasons, and the Cortaid just isn't knocking back this batch of hives.

Trying to find natural remedies, but putting pressure on my trapezius point did absolutely nothing except aggravate the hives because I had hives there.

I feel like i am in the Twilight Zone or an Alfred Hitchock movie. I know stress can cause hives and I realize we have had a bit of stress, but I was feeling pretty good today.

All I want to do is loofah my entire body. My heart breaks even more for little Maddox, because this is pure hell!!! I read that they only last for a couple of hours, but we are past that now. Hopefully in the morning these will be gone. I hope I figure out what caused these so I do not have a repeat of this. If I could roll around in a sand pile it would be heaven.

Has anyone had this happen? Does anyone have any suggestions?
always an adventure around here.

Benadryl makes a cream that I've used. It works pretty good. Doesn't get in your system like the pills do. - Again, I'm not a real doctor . . .

OOOOOOOOOh!! I itch for you. That must be awful!! Maybe you have to go cold turkey and take only "important" medicines, use less soap and shampoo, wash clothes twice (once with soap and once just to rinse and no softners) etc. If the hives come out at night maybe it's something Craig uses. Who knows??
My other answer would be to RUN AWAY FROM HOME!!!
I'm thinking about you.

Ummmm. I've got nothing. Zero. Zilch. Bupkis even.

My friends daughter-in-law (who lives in Duluth and just had a baby last month) sells a line of products called Daily Blue Naturals. The products are all natural, green, etc. I've used their Vitamin E oil (both on myself and on the dog). Great stuff.

Other than that, like I said, I've got BUPKIS (that's a great word!!).

Dr Steve, thank you for that tip! I will purchase that cream when I pick up the Claritin. You may not be a real Dr, but you sure have good medical advice...maybe you could float at the hospitals?

Aunt Janis, There are days I would love to run away from home or at the very least detoxify this household. Hopefully this season will pass soon and we have things sorted out without any more surprises. Thank you for the tip to wash clothes twice. That is a good idea.

Cathy, I'll check out the Daisy Blue. The natural things often have a lot of soy, coconut and other things Maddox is allergic to...but I will always check out something new.

Knowing first hand how Maddox's skin feels, just makes me want to cry. How can he be so happy and delightful??We are certainly blessed with 2 wonderful boys. Thankfully God gave him a terrific personality...it would be almost unbearable if he were crabby all the time and crying and inconsolable...however, I wouldn't blame.
