GREAT NEWS

We had the appt today and the baby is HEALTHY!!! Everything is working just like it is supposed to. And my fluid level is in the "normal high" range. a couple of numbers from the cutoff for being too much, but nothing to worry about.

It has been a long 11 days waiting for this appt. Many people were praying though and I felt pretty calm yesterday and today...no upset stomachs...only God can do that!! Especially with my stomach!!

We did find out what it is. After all these ultrasounds and cruddy appts, I wanted something to look forward to. Mason is going to have a baby brother!!!! His response to this news was "Cool. Just like I said it was. Wanna see my science book?" He has been saying it is a boy and that he wants a brother, so that will be fun for him.

well, going to bed now. We need to get busy on a boy's name so we can name this little guy!

Hip Hip Hooray. Time to relax and pick out a name. One of my friends daughters had a baby and named him Xavier. Plenty of bad names out there, and I think that I've seen pretty many of them in preschool. Let's see, there's Soren and Wolfgang and Kathe (pronounced kay-tah) and Oliver (nicknamed 'Odd Oliver', not good) and on and on and on. Good luck, we're rooting for you!!!!

Mason is insisting that he gets to pick out the baby's name!! The name he would like is "Rustin". We have no idea where he came up with that.

He told his Grammy yesterday that he is picking out the middle name and we get to pick out the "regular" name.

He is also giving us his opinions on the names we are tossing around. That boy listens to EVERYTHING. Ahhhh, having a sibling will rock his little world..which will be good for him, but hard.

I think working with small children makes it harder to pick out names, because even if the name is good, but the child was not,I cannot use the name! Reminds me of the not so fun times:) Or the child's name reminds me of the parent...There is one name we really like, but the parent of a child with that name accused me of "farting" when it was his child who was having some issues. Yep.

So, i hope we have a name soon. I want to refer to him as something, and not just "little guy". We are also looking for names that mean calm things. No warlike ones or full of fire ones:) Besides this baby seems pretty mellow compared to how Mason was.

I had to laugh when reading your comment!!!! Randy and I joke that it's a good thing that we had kids early in my career because we wouldn't be able to choose a name that didn't have an 'experience' connected to it; a bad, strange, bizarre, naughty, or parental experience....By the way, there was a 'Rustin' in the 3-year-old class, but I don't think that he was weird.

And, I just thought of this, there was a parent who let the older sibling name the new baby. When the 'new baby' was old enough to be in my class, her mom confided in me that she doesn't know what was wrong with herself, letting the older child NAME the younger one. She thought it might have been hormones....

Yeah, can't say we will let Mason name the baby, or really have a say. Try explaining that to the new little guy!! "Hey we let your brother pick out your name!!" And Mason would never let him forget it!! Wouldn't make for good sibling relations :)

If we acquire another pet Mason can name it Rustin then.

So, we are looking at unique names that are not too wierd so they don't remind me of any of my clients. Makes it a little harder, but fun. i hope we think of one soon though, because it is wierd knowing the baby is a boy, but not having a name to refer to him to.

Oh, AMEN to the weather pictures!! It WOULD be great to see other weather pictures, if only more people would contribute!!! Maybe we should call the blog "The Missing Haugens".

I think a little Marshall or a little Craig would be nice. Both are nice people and great to be around. Just my 2cents.
